GRAHAM, Texas (October 21, 2021) – Graham Municipal Airport (KRPH) commissioned an Airport Weather Advisor® Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) on October 21, 2021. Airport Weather Advisor® is the flagship product of Mesotech International, Inc, a Sacramento, California based manufacturer of meteorological instrumentation systems. The AWOS supports aviation safety by providing up to the minute weather reports to pilots via radio, telephone, and the internet.
The AWOS installation was completed by Pappas Technologies Inc. and Texas AWOS Service LLC. Weather data is currently being reported to the national Aviation Weather Center and the National Weather Service from the system and can be found online under airport ID KRPH.
The city of Graham is a tight-knit community located in north-central Texas with the largest downtown square in America. The city is the largest city in Young County and offers residents and visitors a more rural Texas experience. The community offers both excellent hunting and fishing grounds for vacationers as well as a thriving convention and visitor bureau with enthusiastic and high-level professionals for event planning. The Graham Municipal Airport is a point of pride for the community and has two runways: a 5,000 ft X 75 ft runway, and a 3300 ft X 50 ft runway.
The new AWOS at KRPH was made possible by the Graham Economic Improvement Corporation (GEIC). Both the community and the airport personnel are looking forward to the improved weather data, safety information, and economic growth the Airport Weather Advisor® system can bring to the area.
