Millington, Tennessee, December 4th, 2023 – Charles W. Baker Airport (2M8) in Millington, Tennessee has made a significant upgrade with the installation of a Mesotech Airport Weather Advisor™ Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) IVZ. This aviation weather monitoring upgrade was installed with support from Remote Systems Integration, LLC and was officially commissioned by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on December 4th, 2023.
The new AWOS IVZ system represents a significant technological advancement for Charles W Baker Airport, enhancing both safety and operational efficiency. It provides precise, real-time FAA-Certified weather data crucial for pilots and air traffic controllers. The system includes advanced sensors for measuring wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and visibility. Additionally, it is equipped with state-of-the-art freezing rain and thunderstorm detection capabilities.
Advisory weather data is available through Mesotech’s cloud-based AWOS Live weather platform app. AWOS Live allows anyone with an internet-connected computer or mobile device to view live streaming weather data from the airport at https://k2m8.awos.live

The airport has also received federal funding to construct a new terminal building.
