GLENDALE, Ariz. (December 16, 2021) – Mesotech International, Inc. commissioned an Airport Weather Advisor® AWOS (Automated Weather Observing System) at Glendale Municipal Airport (KGEU) on December 16, 2021. Airport Weather Advisor® is Mesotech’s flagship product – an FAA type-certified AWOS system that measures a variety of meteorological parameters and automatically creates official weather observations. These observations are generated every minute and broadcast to pilots and other members of the aviation community, advising them of current weather conditions at the airport.

Mesotech partnered with local businesses Rural Electric and Everest Communications to complete the installation. The new Airport Weather Advisor® system replaced an obsolete AWOS that could no longer be maintained, a problem many airports are facing today as AWOS installed 15-20 years ago reach their end of life. The replacement project brings new capabilities to the airport, including thunderstorm detection, while re-using the existing infrastructure.
